From April: vintage afternoon teaCome and Join us for a quintessential British tradition – a delicious, mouth watering afternoon tea, £17.95 per person. We offer these Mon – Sat  (note not Sundays) and they must be booked and paid for  in advance and for a minimum of four people.  (This  is to avoid waste in the kitchen as the chef cannot make a batch of scones and cakes for just two people – especially if no-one turns up and everything has to go in the bin!)  The afternoon tea we offer is quite exceptional, we also cater for gluten free options. We do of course cater for large parties wanting a specific event and requiring afternoon tea,  please discuss availability with our manager.

  • Lovely place. Food is beautiful and the decor is wonderful. Prices are quite high but the portions and quality make it entirely worth it. Staff are excellent. Lavender worth seeing during summer also – so beautiful!

  • “Friday 26th July was my daughter’s wedding. We were lucky with the weather and what a great setting. The food was superb and even the pickiest eaters said it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding . I have nothing but praise for Glyn and his team for the seamless management of the wedding breakfast . They helped to make a wonderful day even more special.”

  • We stumbled upon this beautiful pub whilst out and about on a bike ride. We’re glad we did because it was a very welcoming place. We found a cosy corner table and enjoyed an evening meal here. Good ales on too. Service friendly and very efficient. Couldn’t fault our experience here. Would definitely revisit if in the area again and would recommend without hesitation.

  • “One can not improve on perfection! Excellent day out.”

  • The local surroundings are lovely and set in Cheshire countryside, greeted at door immediately on entering and shown to our table, drinks order promptly taken, and furnished with menus. Quick but not rushed service we are off to a good start. The only disappointment was my duck was cooked right through and I would much preferred it to be much pinker. This made what otherwise would have been a superb dish only a good one. But still a good one. Desserts were lovely, service fantastic, so very very nearly a five star rating I look forward to returning.
