The Swettenham Arms.

One Of Cheshire's Finest Country Inns

We are currently open and serving delicious homemade takeaway food and non-alcoholic hot and cold drinks from 10am to 6pm every day.

**Opening 12th April for outside dining and currently taking bookings**

From the 12th April, customers will be able to dine at our regular outside tables in our three large beer gardens. We will not be taking bookings for these, so please just turn up on a first-come first-served basis.

In addition to these tables, we are also introducing heated and lit canopies. Customers will be able to book these for use on or after the 12th April for a small cover charge. These will be available for 5 weeks (from the 12th), until the pub can re-open inside again. Bookings can be made for these for Mon-Sun, for the following times: 12:00 or 12:30, 2:00 or 2:30, 4:30 or 5:00, and 6:30 or 7:00. Tables will seat up to 6 people each.

We can take bookings through email on info@swettenhamarms.co.uk or by telephone on 01477 571284 and will need to know your name, contact number, number of people in your party and the date and time you would like to book. As we are currently only running a small staff, the preferred method is through email if possible. More details and menu coming soon.

Thank you, and looking forward to welcoming you all back.

  • We had a small private function in the Lovell Suite at the Swettenham Arms last week, comprised of afternoon tea for approximately 20 people. Everything was extremely well organised and our waitress was very attentive.

  • The local surroundings are lovely and set in Cheshire countryside, greeted at door immediately on entering and shown to our table, drinks order promptly taken, and furnished with menus. Quick but not rushed service we are off to a good start. The only disappointment was my duck was cooked right through and I would much preferred it to be much pinker. This made what otherwise would have been a superb dish only a good one. But still a good one. Desserts were lovely, service fantastic, so very very nearly a five star rating I look forward to returning.

  • We stumbled upon this beautiful pub whilst out and about on a bike ride. We’re glad we did because it was a very welcoming place. We found a cosy corner table and enjoyed an evening meal here. Good ales on too. Service friendly and very efficient. Couldn’t fault our experience here. Would definitely revisit if in the area again and would recommend without hesitation.

  • All decorated for festive season, warm and welcoming. All staff were attentive and efficient. Food beautifully prepared and served.
We had a lovely evening, enjoyed everything. Bonus of half price food too, ends at the end of November but hurray, back on for January and February 2020.

  • “Called in today and the place is a typical English pub. Beams, horse brasses and a lovely atmosphere. I have been before and the place gets really busy at the weekends. Great place for a pub lunch so try it if you are in the area.”
