Like all businesses, the Swettenham Arms has evolved over the years. We’ve worked very hard to make our beautiful rural venue a destination pub, and we think that we’ve finally succeeded in offering something for everyone! Here’s what we do.
Walkers, cyclists and nature lovers: the area around the pub is a paradise for walkers. If you just fancy a short stroll, there’s the Quinta Lovell Arboretum right behind the pub where you can wander around several acres of woodland and grassy walks. If you’re up for a more serious walk, take in the pub on part of a longer route – there’s a network of paths around Swettenham and Brereton, so you can walk or cycle as far as you want. You’re welcome to use our car park as long as you join us for lunch or a drink.
Dog friendly: dogs are welcome in the Arboretum (ideally on a lead), and of course in the pub itself as well as any of our three beer gardens. Dogs and their owners can sit in any of our stone flagged bar areas, and we’ve always got dog biscuits and water bowls available.
Horse riders: we’re in the middle of a network of bridlepaths here, and you can ride to or from the pub from Swettenham to Brereton Country Park. We’ve just introduced a tie up area for horses, with a hitching rail and safety ties, so bring a headcollar! Water buckets are available, if you need them filling just ask.
Car fans: Our regular classic car evenings on Tuesday nights are a well-established favourite, and sometimes we have ‘special’ evenings as well – check our events page for current dates.
Weddings: Our stunning lavender meadow makes the perfect venue for a summer wedding, and the photos will be spectacular.
