“We would just like to thank you and the staff at the Swettenham Arms for the really splendid 80th birthday celebration we had on Sunday afternoon, 7th February. The banqueting room looked magnificent and the meal was out of this world – our guests all remarked on the quality. Glyn organised the proceedings very well so everything ran very smoothly. Compliments to the chef and the kitchen staff and the ladies waiting on table were just lovely. Thank you Fran for suggesting Roy Peters he was just great with the music during the meal and throughout the afternoon. It was a really memorable day for us and thank you all very much for making it so. We will have to visit you in the summer when the sunflowers and lavenders are out!”
“One can not improve on perfection! Excellent day out.”
Idyllic. Beautiful outside setting to enjoy Sunday Lunch. Felt Covid secure. Outside tables are well spaced. Ordered food inside and social distancing was observed. Portions were generous. Every item on the plate was cooked perfectly. Gardens are beautiful and set against backdrop of lavender field.
We just wanted to thank all the staff who helped make Andrew and Jen’s Wedding so special. Everyone had a wonderful time and so many guests commented on the beautiful venue and fabulous food.
“Popped in here for refreshments what out walking. Lovely setting, two nice beer gardens. Decent beer and choice. Wedding on when we were here but plenty of room to find a table outside. On summer’s day this place is perfect for a beer and a chat. Nice walk to the rear in the Lovell gardens.”
“Arrived for lunch at a lovely outdoor seating area with a great variety of colourful flowers. The menu had lots of great meals which sounded great and had good prices. We had an amazing burger, scampi and fish & chips. Before we took the dogs for a walk we had a look around the back at the lavender meadow, flowered arches and gazebo where weddings take place. Lovely walks around the arboretum then came back for a excellent pot of tea which came in china cups with little shortbread biscuits. A perfect end to our day out. All this following Covid restrictions to the letter.”
I had a very enjoyable visit, the food was delectable and the staff were very warm and inviting. I would strongly recommend a visit.
Mothering Sunday lunch. Excellent choices all served by a very pleasant waiting staff of young ladies . We dined in the Lovell Suite , what a super light room. The meal was superb, and the place was busy.
