Been kicking up leaves on an autumnal family walk? Cycled along the footpaths on a bright spring day? Taken a stroll in the neighbouring arboretum? We’d love to see your photos taken in and around the pub.
“I felt I had to write and thank you for the lovely evening we enjoyed on Friday, 30th Jan for an 80th birthday party. The setting outside and in was lovely and the food extremely good, as was the service. A special thank you to Glyn and staff. I was very pleased with everything and had most favourable comments from all the guests, I would have no hesitation in recommending the Swettenham Arms to anyone.”

We haven’t been for a year but as the weather was super today and it’s a lovely drive we headed out into the country. There was a classic motor bike meeting and some fantastic cars from local people, we both ordered the scampi which is one of the best that we have had .

“The surroundings of the pub, including the lavender field and the adjacent arboretum, are stunning all year round. The staff are friendly. The drinks are excellent and the ale is varied and well kept. The food is consistently excellent. I truly can’t recommend it highly enough. “

“Delightful setting and atmosphere.”
Spent my 50th at this fabulous place. Hired Lovell Suite and had marquee attached. The canapes, dressed buffet, service from staff at function and overall presentation was absolutely incredible. Glyn, the manager, was superb – communicated brilliantly and was such a professional host. Had the best time. Very highly recommended.

“Popped in here for refreshments what out walking. Lovely setting, two nice beer gardens. Decent beer and choice. Wedding on when we were here but plenty of room to find a table outside. On summer’s day this place is perfect for a beer and a chat. Nice walk to the rear in the Lovell gardens.”

We had a simple lunch at the Swettenham Arms after a walk and sat in the bar area. Service was quick (with plenty of staff), friendly and attentive and the soup tasty with nice artisan bread. We noted that the pub has a large car park, seems dog-friendly and is well-situated for walks in the Dane Valley.

“Friday 26th July was my daughter’s wedding. We were lucky with the weather and what a great setting. The food was superb and even the pickiest eaters said it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding . I have nothing but praise for Glyn and his team for the seamless management of the wedding breakfast . They helped to make a wonderful day even more special.”
