Well, the new year is nearly upon us and that’s always a good time for a look back at how things have gone over the last few months. to start off with, we’d like to thank all our loyal customers for supporting us over the year. A lot of our customers are locals and pop in regularly for the odd pint and a gossip, but we’re very aware that some people drive extraordinary distances to come and see us, which we do appreciate.
Our classic car and motorbike evenings have been as successful as ever this year. These start up usually in May (cars on a Tuesday evening from 6.30pm, motorbikes on a Thursday), and continue weekly throughout the year until the weather gets the better of us. If you haven’t been along yet, do come – whether you own a classic vehicle or you just love to look at them. There’s a free hotdog for all drivers, and it’s a great opportunity to spend some time with fellow enthusiasts in convivial surroundings.
Weddings at the Swettenham Arms go from strength to strength, and we love to see your photos of happy brides in our lavender meadow. This year, we’ve also set up a jasmine arch so you can get the perfect picture. We’ve been lucky enough to be the venue for some really joyous events this year, including a farm-themed wedding complete with vintage tractors and bales of hay!
The days shorten, the weather gets colder and we all move inside, light the log fires and enjoy a pint or two or real ale. Winters at the Swettenham Arms are warm, cosy and full of good food and laughter. Now that Christmas is almost through, we’re looking forward to January and February again and the return of our ever-popular 50% off all food offer.
Once again, thank you so much to all our customers this year and we hope you have a very happy and successful 2020. Look forward to seeing you all again soon.
